We've been to Spain twice in six weeks, both short visits. One was with enthusiasm and one with sorrow. The movement of it, the emotion, the rising and falling of the airplanes and the longing and tears filled me with a deep sense of fragile humanity.
Here are some of my jet-lagged thoughts and images:
boxes of red juicy cherries
fighting sleep on plane seats, train seats, in the groggy morning and late at night surrounded by family
The swirling Cantabrian sea
Cafe con leche
So many kisses
The world as small as we want it to be
The value of people that love you
The power of loving someone and holding them in your heart after they've died
The unique life story each person gives us- if we listen
Sunrise and sunset
The strange dance of life, everyday
The busy insignificance of most of what we think and do
and the slow ache of never again
and forever and always
fighting sleep on plane seats, train seats, in the groggy morning and late at night surrounded by family
The swirling Cantabrian sea
Cafe con leche
So many kisses
The world as small as we want it to be
The value of people that love you
The power of loving someone and holding them in your heart after they've died
The unique life story each person gives us- if we listen
Sunrise and sunset
The strange dance of life, everyday
The busy insignificance of most of what we think and do
and the slow ache of never again
and forever and always
siempre te querré
